Restoration of Visavuori-museum during 2000-2003

Visavuori-museum was restored during the years 2000 - 2003. The restoration was largely funded by the European Union. The complete restoration project cost 650 000 €. During the project the studio and home of Emil Wikström were restored; the roofs were rebuilt in the traditional way, the electricity systems were renewed, the external walls of the house were painted with tar and a heating system is installed in the home building. Also the museum cafe was renovated and more storage space for museum's collection was built.
